Resolutions: 2013 Review and 2014 Reset

Resolutions: 2013 Review and 2014 Reset, LevanahlovesHow’s your New Year shaping up so far?

I’ve just read over my 2013 Resolutions and honestly, instead of beating myself up about it I just started laughing. I mean I did somewhat achieve them – I drunk more water than I did in 2012 and ate clean and lean when and where I could. Hereth ends the somewhat. I put on half a stone, procrastinated more than ever and accumulated even more beauty products. 2013 was a mixture of emotions for me. I got engaged which was the most amazing feeling and I’m so happy. But it was a hard year we lost a family member, and personally I’ve found 2013 to be more taxing than I thought it would be.

Oh well…onward and upward as they say.  2014 has to be better. This year I’ve already had a cold which has put my exercising back a week, and I just had to get rid of the big box of chocolate Celebrations the only way I knew how, eating until they were all gone. Waste not want not eh?

January is miserable both in weather and mood, so I’ve decided to write off this month of acceptable self-improvement and focus on February instead. But I am taking steps to reach my goals below. 2014 is ready for us and we CAN do this!

EAT CLEAN AND LEAN (as much as possible) – it’s hard to keep up with a completely clean and lean lifestyle so I’ve decided to eat as clean as I can as much as possible. This includes drinking more water. Today I totally smashed this goal, I made myself Courghetti and Lamb Meatballs for dinner – soooo good. It’s about the little victories I think.

EXERCISE IN SOME WAY EVERYDAY – I would like to feel my fittest and happiest before my wedding, so I’ve vowed to exercise in some way everyday. Whether that is with the Wii Fit, strength exercises or just plain moving about dancing to music videos. A by-product of this is losing weight, but it’s a more positive outlook and more achievable goal. I bought a new Tracy Anderson DVD at the weekend. It’s her method for beginners, and after doing it this morning, I think I will totally be able to keep it up.

FORGIVE MYSELF – I’m going to try to be kinder to myself this year. Last year all I did was chastise myself if I didn’t do something I wanted to achieve. This year I’m going to say ‘well done’ to myself everytime I do something more than I did yesterday.

BLOG REGULARLY – I’m one of those people who doesn’t have enough hours in the day for everything I want to do. I would like to blog everyday, but with a full time job it can be really difficult. So I’ve planned to blog 3-4 times a week, with the view to work up to everyday. Oh and before the year is out I plan to have done my first Youtube video!

SMILE EVERYDAY – instead of saying ‘I can’t’, ‘I won’t’ or ‘I don’t’ I’m going to try saying ‘I can, I will and smile’ because doing that will surely make things more achievable. I intend to have a good day everyday and be grateful for the little things.
