I’M ENGAGED: to a wonderful man
So last week I got whisked away to Venice on a surprise city break by my wonderful boyfriend Chris. He does spoil me rotten, but this trip had an ulterior motive. He proposed to me on a gondola on the Venetian canals and typically I cried. I’m such a sucker for romance so of course I said yes. The minute I got to some free WI-FI back at the hotel I text everyone who was important and then promptly uploaded a picture to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (priorities right?). If it was medieval times I would have had to wait and write a letter to everyone, Downton Abbey styley – ‘I’m engaged to be married’. It still hasn’t quite sunk in to be honest. All my family and friends have joked I’ve already turned into Brideszilla (I hope not!) and I’ve only been engaged a week.
I think it is quite appropriate that this is a life, lusts and loves post as I felt lust, which developed into love and now we are going to spend our lives together. I think this quote from Meet Joe Black sums up my feelings.
“Love is passion, obsession, someone you can’t live without. I say, fall head over heels. Find someone you can love like crazy and who will love you the same way back. How do you find him? Well, you forget your head, and you listen to your heart.”
