Over the past month I haven’t been happy with my hair, a year ago it started falling out and after taking steps to correct this (which meant sans colouring) I was finally ready to get back to my blonde self. My hair had developed into its own sort of ombré, but as a blonde you can always be ‘blonder’, and I felt as though I had lost my mojo. My hair was flat, in dire need of a colour and freshening up. I’m turning 24 on Wednesday so thought it was the perfect timing.
On Saturday I grabbed my mum and hotfooted it down to Knightsbridge. Now as my mum’s a hairdresser and has been mine forever, I was a little nervous because someone else was going to be looking after my locks. I took my Mum for moral support and to help me get across what I wanted my hair to turn out like. I needn’t have worried thought because I went to see the experts at Neville Hair & Beauty*.
The salon is just beautiful, five floors of beauty mecca – hair, waxing, pedicures, manicures, facials and more. Plus there is even a kitchen in the back that makes the most fantastic salads and fresh juices.
I went to see the lovely Despina who was to transform my tresses into something beautiful. I asked for a soft, beige honey blonde that looked very natural and she delivered beyond expectations. Expertly weaving my hair, painting on the creamy colour and wrapping in tin foil. Then my hair was warmed for fifteen minutes, like a cake, before being shampooed and conditioned for the big reveal. Years of watching my mum do other people’s hair meant I knew what my hair should look like, and I was so so happy.
Despina then passed me onto the other member of the dream team Jessica. I opted out of a cut because I’ve been diligently growing my hair and asked for the biggest, bounciest, curly at the ends blow-dry that Jessica could manage, and boy she delivered. Swish worthy and voluminous, creamy, beige blonde that felt conditioned, thick and soft. I genuinely cannot stop smiling, the shade of blonde compliments my skintone, and I feel like myself again – uplifted and walking with my head held high.
I cannot recommend Neville’s enough, I can see why many A-Listers and famous faces make it their beauty destination. Of course you get what you pay for here, and I left feeling like a million dollars, and I still do!
What do you think of my new hair?
