Marks & Spencer Press Day

A few weeks ago I attended the Marks & Spencer Beauty press day. The Marks & Spencer Beauty halls are some of my favourite to snoop around, but (shamefully) I usually stick to looking at the brands that I know. I found some real gems on the day.

I got to try out the Stila Convertible Colour, which I found quite sheer. I loved the shade Petunia, a gorgeous coral peach.  The below Stila palette is fab too, great neutral colours exclusive to M&S (coming April). The glitter shadows are really pigmented, with the primer they make eyes really pop.

I adore the Verbena range from L’Occitane, the smell is so fresh and lemony. The Emma Bridgewater range is lovely too. It stays true to her pottery range and would look really pretty in any bathroom or kitchen. I can’t wait to try some bits from the Skyn Iceland brand, as I’ve heard great things.

The new Blending Wands from Josh Wood are very nice indeed. Then I headed to the nail section where I got a lush manicure from Leighton Denny. The colour I chose was the new and exclusive shade Tropical Dream, which was a beautiful coral pink. So glossy, I cannot wait to get my hands on it. I predict it will be my go-to summer colour.

Unfortunately whilst I didn’t score Rosie’s rocking figure, the above pictures are me the next day, a gorgeous non-patchy bronzed hue that gave me that healthy looking glow. Over the next week it wore well fading evenly, helped along with regular moisturising and exfoliating. I’ve decided against a tan on my wedding day as I don’t think it will go with the style of dress I like, but I would most definitely have a tan by James Read again.

Then I got introduced to a boutique fragrance brand that I instantly fell in love with – Shay & Blue. This is true perfume craftsmanship using real flowers, fruits and spices, like the perfume of old. Founder Dom De Vetta is ex Senior Vice President of Chanel and former Global General Manager of Jo Malone London and he teamed up with a new-generation perfumer of the moment Julie Massé.

Original scents like Amber Rose, Atropa Belladonna, Almond Cucumber, Sicilian Limes, Suffolk Lavender (my possible wedding fragrance) and my absolute favourite Blood Oranges. It smells so…juicy. I’ve got a sample size, but I NEED to get my hands on the full sized one. I absolutely cannot be without it. They do candles too – definitely my new brand crush.

So there you have it, there really is no beauty hall like an M&S beauty hall. Will you be picking up any brands mentioned?
