Beauty Bargain: Mavala Chilli and Spice Collection

Levanah Loves: Mavala Chilli & Spice CollectionThe weather in the UK at the moment is scorchio (well for us Brits anyway!) and as is the British way we moan when it isn’t sunny and we moan when it is. We definitely can’t handle the heat, what we can handle is BBQ’s, lazying about and for the girls, sunbathing and beautifying in a leisurely fashion.

Trying to find an appropriate shade for nails is tricky, you want something that really screams ‘I’m coming for you summer’. When I got my hands on Mavala’s New Chilli and Spice Collection* I knew these were hot (excuse the pun!) contenders.

At just £4.50 each for 5ml, Mavala is a great brand to help try out new seasons colours. They have a great shade selection and lets face it who uses up a full nail polish anyway? Definitely one for my new Beauty Bargain series, any high street/drugstore beauty candidates that perform well and ring in a under a tenner.

Mavala is definitely one such candidate. Initially I fell in love with Samarkand, a rich vibrant purple, but I’ve since been enticed by Cuzco, a vivid orangey red, which went painted over a white base gives you a sophisticated neon.

L-R: Cuzco, Bali, Bomaka, Trinidad, Jaipur, Samarkand

The other shades are Bali a bright Barbie pink; Jaipur, a gorgeous fiery carrot orange; Bomaka, a lively green based turquoise and Trinidad, a creamy deep sea blue. The brushes are wide, easy to use and you only need one coat to get a smooth, opaque finish.

In my stash I already own a grey, nude and a pistachio green, but I’m worried that my next foray in Boots, Debenhams or John Lewis will result in more of these Mavala cuties being picked up.

Any of these take your fancy?
